This is cool. I was watching Pinocchio and turned on one of the extras which was an interview with Walt Disney about making the movie.
It was only 5 minutes long but was jaw dropping. To make Pinocchio, he plowed all his profits from Snow White to buy better equipment, buy a building and hire better animators. He and his brothers also sold their cars and were in debt to the bank for $4.5 million in 1940!!!!
He could have walked away rich after Snow White. Everyone told him not to risk so much when he’d already made it.
But instead, Walt Disney, one of our historical titans was not proud enough to literally sell his own car and push it all and more into the middle because he believed in what he could become. We take Disney’s success for granted now, but it just shows that even our most gifted icons at some point had to make a decision and go for it.
Who knows what we can become if we are willing to just believe in ourselves.
Such an amazing inspiration
